Hello everybody, we had a great tour today and the band tore the house down at their performance at an international goodwill concert. Other performances included a dance trope from Minneapolis and several performing groups from China. We toured the outside of Olympic Village, took pictures with a couple of USA track stars (one from Florida and one from California) and it is everything and more than we have seen on TV. The venues are so impressive, especially the bird's nest, the cube (water competition) which is where they held the opening ceremonies!
Today we learned a little Chinese, a great deal about Chinese history, politics and culture and a few jokes that I can't remember. I have already taken over 600 pictures but have to find a way to edit and forward some to Jason for the blog so bear with me.
Security is incredible and the Chinese people are loving us Americans (or is it just our money???) Anyway, one of the guys they think is Shaq so we get extra perks if we hang out with him (his is big and bald, and of course black and a great hearted guy)!
Tomorrow we go to the Great Wall (where the band will perform again) and Tienneman Square so we can't wait!
Can't think of much else so I guess I will retire because I am still suffering from jet lag (or just being lazy - ha ha)!
Take care, miss you all and more to come, soon! JR
P.S. I miss my KFC and Sharon, Jason and Henry's cooking cause it looks like if I see another chinese dish I'll scream,,, In fact I'll probably come home lookng like Prince (his 'size' of course)! Later until the next time.
